Deep Plane Facelift – There are several types of facelifts. Sometimes minimally invasive procedures are not effective over the long term and certainly have limitations. Often, fillers and minimally invasive procedures are used in an attempt to avoid surgery, but can lead to increasing scar tissue and certainly are unable to provide long-term results for loose or sagging tissue.
The most effective treatments include tightening the muscle under the skin. Of the multiple options for a facelift, I believe the best results come from a deep-plane facelift. It avoids some of the recurrent sagging of the skin along the lower jaw and tightens all the way to the nasolabial folds, something other types of facelifts are unable to accomplish.
However, this is not a surgery for the faint of heart. It requires a slightly longer recovery and patience to allow the tissue and swelling to heal. It also requires a meticulous and diligent surgeon highly trained to perform these procedures.
Results, however, can be amazing and restores a youthful appearance to the face unlike any other procedure. Patient selection is key. If you have been unsatisfied with fillers, minimally invasive procedures, and have loose and sagging skin with deep nasolabial folds, a deep plane facelift may be the right procedure for you. ~Dr Cyr
